Avet SX 6/4 2 Speed from Cabbage Key

Avet just released the much anticipated SX 2 speed. This completes the 2 speed lineup. Avet now offers all their reels in a single or 2 speed configuration.

The SX 2 speed will become a favorite, just as the single speed has dominated the market in its class size. To find a reel this size with so much raw power, is exceptional.

The preliminary reports from the guides that tested this reel are very favorable. Bluefin tuna in the 35 pound range were taken with ease, as were other larger species

The reel itself is a gem to handle, feels perfect, reflecting the mechanical precision you expect from Avet.

Overall, it is a tad wider than the single to accommodate the extra gearing as well as slightly heavier, weighing 15.9 ounces versus 14.2 for the single. Although the body and gearcase are wider, the inwardly curved handle actually places the cranking axis closer to the center of the reel. This eliminates any tendency to wobble on quick retrieves.
