ARB
Bearings: Shimano recently raised the
benchmark in engineering excellence with the introduction of their
revolutionary development, ARB (Anti-Rust
Bearings). These new Shimano bearings are treated with a
special coating that extends their life by ten times that of a
normal bearing and the proprietary process is so advanced that
Shimano has protected it with a worldwide patent. ARB bearings are
currently standard in Shimano's top-of-the-line TLD and STELLA,
SUSTAIN and STRADIC series. Features such as Fluidrive II,
Super Stopper II, Power Roller and Dyna Balance with ARB, makes the
competition at any level pale in comparison.

Shimano’s Tiagra
series of reels have rewritten the rules of big game fishing.
The Shimano Hydrothermal Drag System rewrites the rule on heat as it
automatically compensates to keep the original drag setting intact.
What’s more, theShimano Tiagra’s pre-lubricated graphite drag washer
operation is impervious to saltwater and always starts
smoothly.
The Shimano Tiagra also features a
Calibrated Drag Pre Set Knob. The unique preset knob has detents
with approximately 1/2 pound increments for easy adjustment.

Reels
Shimano TLD 2 speed reels are tough. The two speed gear ratios are
tough on fish, yet easy on you. High gear ratios make it easy to
maintain tension on a charging gamefish. The low gear ratios give
you a mechanical advantage when pulling a stubborn fish from the
depths.
Shimano TLD 2 speed reels are lightweight. When you’re standing at
the rail struggling to get a fish in, you don’t need to fight the
weight of the reel as well. Frames are made of XT-7, a lightweight
material, exclusive to Shimano reels, that is much more
resistant to stress and torque than graphite, and exhibits greater
resistance to wear.
